GOOD MORNING LACIES!!!
It was a lovely day with a gentle breeze making the grass wave, but all of a sudden black clouds and icy wind came out of the north! What could it be but an evil force coming to wreak havoc in the garden? It must be Frostbite, the evil villianess, and why is she freezing the sweet Flower Pot Pretties and bloomin' beauties?!? Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-Masculine Christmas card

This week at Craft Your Passion, we of course celebrate the Always Anything Goes challenge that we have every week!  This weeks sponsor is Di's Digis who will be giving  $10 gift voucher to the winner!
We were given the chance to use any image of our choosing and I picked one from Lacy Sunshine!  This image is called Harry Boos Christmas Tree.  I've always loved Buffalo Plaid for masculine cards and this outdoorsy theme was right up my alley-the digi was perfect for it.  I used some green branch punchies from a friend for accents, also some laser cut wooden trees and a chipboard sentiment.  A stamped Christmas greeting will make it a perfect card for giving this year!

Lacy Sunshine gets Kids ready for School-A new Challenge! Anything goes!

Well Bubbles goes to Fairy School is such a great digital image from Lacy Sunshine for this time of year.  As parents everywhere get their youngsters off to the buses, into the carpools so they won't be late, the air gets a little cooler and soon the leaves will begin to color.  It's FALL!! Yea, my favorite time of the year.
This challenge is all about the season and school, or if you like, Anything Goes.  When I first saw this image, I thought of school uniforms so that's what I designed her clothing around.  Also that theme is reflected in the plaid background.  Then there was no question about using this pencil paper called "Making the Grade"!  I have this great die cut that looks like torn out notebook paper when it's punched-can you tell it was all coming together on this 6 x 6" card?
Inside I used the other side of the pencil paper and it looks like equations all over the creamy paper.  The notebook lines paper is actually from a 12 x 12" scrapbook paper!  Perfect!  And to top it all off, an encouraging sentiment!
We would LOVE to see all your creations so that we can share ideas.  Please join us for this 2 week challenge and come back often!

Back to School, Welcome Fall, Great time of the Year at Lacy Sunshine!

Even though we're still in August, the kids around here are now in school, the evening air is getting crisp and it won't be long before the leaves get ready to turn.
At Lacy Sunshine, we're celebrating this time of year with some great fall digital images from the Lacy Sunshine Shoppe~there are SO many to choose from!!
The one I chose is named Cider and she's sitting in a wooden barrel full of assorted apples-can't you just hear the crack of you biting down into the ripe apple?  I did a 3/4 split on the front of the card, using a double sided fall print.  Then using a cardstock sticker I used it for my front sentiment.  I tried something new this time-I used my watercolor pencils to color the leaves in the set with multiple fall colors.  Then, using a water pen, blended into the dimensional accents you see at the bottom.
Come and join our next challenge which starts on August 23rd!  We'd love to see your creations!!

New Techniques at the One Sweet Challege/Sweet Pea Stamps-Z-Fold Method

This post for One Sweet Challenge from Sweet Pea Stamps is all about learning or using a new technique. So I decided that I would try a Z-fold method, I believe that is what this is called, using a beautiful image from The Sweet Pea Stamps Shop called Beautiful by Holly Durr.  I used copics to color her in and various heritage style papers.  I love the feel of the butterfly die cut with the Happy Birthday stamp!  Felt it's very elegant.  Be sure and check out our challenge this week and get your entry ready!

Aurora Wings Sponsors us at Craft Your Passion-Always Anything Goes!

Every week we have a new challenge at Craft Your Passion usually featuring images from amazing sponsors.  This week is no different as we are working with digitals from Aurora Wings.  Their delightful fairies are some of my favorites!  This week I'm using Daisy Elf and I've dreamed of using this after seeing it on so many friends' cards!  I love the way her delicate wings look and the depth of the color in the flower petals.
I found a delightful paper by Echo Park that was double sided and thought that by using 4 mats under the image, that it really made the copic colored image really pop.  I wrapped the matted bundle with pink sheer ribbon...do you get the feel that I like PINK?? One of the complimentary papers in the set I used inside and finished it off with a sentiment and colored gem flower.
At Craft Your Passion, our challenges are Always Anything Goes and the winner receives $10 worth of digital images from Aurora Wings- WooHoo!

More Winter/Christmas cards from Lacy Sunshine--WHOOOO wants to see????

Have you ever used an image that just totally inspires you?  Well, I have when I started working with this Lacy Sunshine image called Snowy Owl Ethereal Enchantress.  From the fur around her neck and wrists, the owl "feathering", the wings and hair and my new friend Frantage.  There are so many wonderful images, especially with the focus on wintery/Christmas digis- I've loved every minute of using them.
So, I started with a 6x6 card and with this image, decided to make a pocket card for the Holidays.  I had JUST gotten this wide, heavily embroidered lace in like a latte color. I glued that to the backside of the image and tacked the ends of it and the image it was attached to onto the card.  I created the insert using the design paper, pink cardstock, a great Christmas stamped verse, and a perfectly matched oversized eyelet with pink eyelash fiber as the "pull".
I glued down a length of pink pearls cause I love pink and browns together and it balances the opposite side where the tree is.  On the inside, the color theme continues and is finished off by another stamped verse.
I hope this inspires you to take a walk through the Lacy Sunshine Store-there are some gorgeous images in there just waiting for your creative mojo!

Show us some New Techniques at Sweet Pea Stamps' ONE SWEET CHALLENGE!

For the month of August!!, we at One Sweet Challenge/Sweet Pea Stamps have chosen to "Educate" ourselves in homage of everyone getting ready to go back to school---We are  going to use a new technique or medium that is new to us in our creations this month.
I'm using the image Swan_n_Pond_Princess by Holly Durr, a fantastic artist from the Sweet Pea Shop.  What I'm learning in the last week or so is how to use Frantage, a texture embossing medium.  This image has waves and sea froth across the bottom of the swan and I chose to use the Aged Marine Embossing Enamel to create the same effect.  These enamels have a gorgeous mixtures of golds, multiple shades of deep blues, and I added some chunky white also.  Used the perfect stamp both inside and out for this Birthday card as well as complimentary buttons.  Please join us and show us YOUR new ideas-we love to Case your creations!
