It's Square Man! Getting in Shape at Squigglefly!

Folks, this has been a rough week for me as I don't adapt to this many changes at one time...I've been trying to get this card posted to Squigglefly's weekly challenge "Getting in Shape" BUT have been fighting a new computer installation-Holy Cow!!!- my ERGO keyboard doesn't work with this computer-Double HC after 13 years on a curved KB!-My external HD doesn't work in the new puter-AND that's where all my card pictures are stored-TRIPLE HC!!!  I have finally figured a way to maneuver around my ISSUES and join in the fun.

This week we want to change the basic shape of our cards.  So, to make a card for this week's challenge, create a card in any size EXCEPT A2 (standard 4.25x5.5 rectangle);  How about a square card or something round, something  tall or something made with a diecut?  Surprise US!
I'm using the Cheryl Alger image "Have a Heart Girl" with a spellbinder die cut around the edge on a SQUARE card.  I used a HM flower from cardstock punched layers, moistened with water, and then scrunched until dry. The white core makes a great white edge around the flower.
Thanks for being patient with me-and please forgive any errors!

Southern Girls Challenge is playing in the Ocean!

Well...at least for me that is!  This bi-monthly challenge finds me using an image from Delicious Doodles called "Seahorses". I've had such fun blinging it up!  The theme of SGC this time is to use a banner or pennant- oh how I wish I had one of those neat pennant dies to make it all look so neat~since I don't I improvised and used some rough twine and put glittery starfish on it and made my own banner!  With some ocean wave paper in the background, I added some cheesecloth to look like netting, and Liquid White Opal Pearls to look like bubbles and blue rhinestones for the seahorse's eyes.  In the bottom corner, I clustered a group of buttons and attached 2 pewter charms of a seahorse and a scalloped clamshell with some embroidery floss.  This will make a great "wishing you well" card for anyone!  Thanks for looking and come back soon!

Weekly Squiggfly challenge-Add a Sentiment!

You get a chance to see the talent of artist Fawn Palmer from Squigglefly this week as the team of Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals showcases their entries.  This whimsical creature is called Pansy Fairy  is so detailed and cute!  I decided to cut the front short and insert some of my black paper lace over the edge so the pink liner could be seen.  When I suspended her wing over that edge so you could see the detail.  I added the double matted sentiment which uses the Fairy theme and then inside is a matching "Happy Birthday".
This week's challenge is to use a Sentiment so be sure to come have fun with us Rascals-there are new challenges every Monday!  You can see all the details here.  Will look forward to seeing you there.

Bandit the Cat is chasing the Birds again on Seems a Little Sketchy

This week at Seems a Little Sketchy we were sponsored by the great group of artists otherwise know as Squigglefly!  The image I used is one of Cheryl Alger's newest called Bandit's Michievious Smile and I couldn't resist putting some pretty red guinea feathers in his mouth and on the corner of the card with the red buttons. (I apologize about the dark colors) There is also some black paper lace under  the panels and circle.  I took liberties with bringing the circle to the front but thought he was too cute to hide.

Introducing Doodle Blooms by Jane Beljo for Squigglefly

There's a nifty artist at Squigglefly named Jane Beljo that has created some
whimsical flower designs and I'm proud to show off 2 different styled cards I made with her latest!  It's called Doodle Bloom and is so much fun!  I knew right off the bat the background paper that I wanted to use-as you can see it picks up all the brilliant colors in the digitals.  I was able to find a good match with the ribbons and on one of them, I used a pewter colored ribbon slide.  Be sure to check out her designs at the Squigglefly Shop-they have a great rewards program when you find yourself wanting all the neat items they have to offer!  Thanks for visiting and come back often!

Snail Mail image for Squiggle Fly's RECIPE Challenge

As always on the first Saturday of the month, Squiggle Fly launches some new digital Images and there is a really FUN artist among those!  Gayle Seach has some darling whimsical images and some extremely detailed images perfect for those hard to make masculine cards.  The set I'm working with today includes many creatures like my snail, frog, bumblebee, dragon fly, just to name a few.
The challenge for Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals team was to use this RECIPE on your card: a button, a flower, and a circle.  I thought about putting the button in the middle of the snail but, I didn't want to cover up her image details!  The background paper is a great glossy embossed Tree/forest paper (sorry for the glare on my picture) and it reminded me of a snail's home!
We have a new challenge every Monday~Play along with the Design Team and show everyone you are up to the Challenge!  It's easy to play along!  You can use any image to play, but to be eligible for the prize you must use a Squigglefly image.  You can use the shop at their site or grab a freebie.  If you're the winner you get to choose any SF image (including the sets)!  See you there!

Sweet N Sassy comes to Seems A Little Sketchy #32

What a FUN Digital image I was given to use from Sweet N Sassy for the latest Seems A Little Sketchy Challenge!  The Digi is called Key to Cocoa's Heart and I used this sketch turned right side up.  It was a perfect digi to use around Valentine's Day~ I colored the key with Gelly Roll gold metallic pen and the rest with Copics.  Some rub on stitches with accent buttons on the corners looked great on the 2 sided heart paper that I used.  There are random embossed hearts on this same paper and I divided it with some paper lace trim. The beauty of that is, while I wanted to use the heart lace that I had-it was the wrong color!  So I got out my copics and there we are!  The sentiment is from a different challenge but was so appropriate!  The inside is a pink liner with a heart stamp.

Mo Manning's Valentine Burglar Freebie -So Perfect!

I just couldn't wait to use this freebie that Mo Manning put on Facebook last week-her site is Mo's digital Pencil and her designs are so fresh and adorable.  This one called Stole My Heart was so clever and great for Valentine's Day!  On my A6 card I cut back about a third of the front and mounted the striped paper (it reminded me of bars like a jail).  Because I wanted to create motion, I hung him a little over the edge.  The B&W heart/words paper on the inside needed a splash of color and I wanted it to be a little "cartoony" so I did like a red *Scribble* with lines across one of the hearts.  There is a cute verse on the inside
